Tony Stark is at the helm of the world's most prolific weapons manufacturing empire: Stark Industries. While in Afghanistan to demonstrate his company's firepower, he is captured by a monomaniacal terrorist who tries to force Stark to recreate for him Stark Industries most potent weapons system. Knowing that the minute he completes the project, he will be killed, Stark instead uses the raw material to fashion a suit that will enable him to escape.
When he arrives home he has an epihany. He wants to put his creative talents to better use. But forces, acting behind the scenes, have other plans. And if Stark is going to survive, he will have to use all of his ingenuity. Iron Man is the latest big screen superhero from Marvel Comics.
