Sermon Illustrations from Hereafter (2010)

Three seemingly separate lives converge in Clint Eastwood's latest film about death and the afterlife. French journalist Marie LeLay sees death up close. Young Marcus, in Great Britain, misses his twin brother, Jason. And George Lonegan struggles with his apparently real ability to contact and communicate with the dead. This film explores the idea of life after death in an ambiguous way that invites Christian reflection and comment.

Movie's Sermon General's Warning:
Hereafter contains some profanity, a disturbing disaster sequences, accident violence, and intimations of drug and alcohol use.

Rating: PG-13      Genre: Drama

FilmTalk Card - What happens when we die?

Hereafter can stimulate discussions about the nature of life after death, how people seek assurance of an afterlife, and why so many differing views about the hereafter exist. Hereafter can also inspire talk about false teachers, and how the knowledge of death can provide perspective on life.
