Miss Shirley discovers that she is dying of cancer, and just wants to get her divided family back together to tell them in hopes that it will provide an opportunity for healing. But people who are only concerned about themselves rarely have time for others, making it impossible for Miss Shirley to achieve her goal. Enter Madea, the tough-talking family matriarch with a heart of -- if not gold, then at least brass. She makes it her point to get the family members to take their eyes off themselves and listen to others.
