Sermon Illustrations - Sermon Illustrations from Robin Hood (2010) (2010)

Robin Longstride is an archer in the army of King Richard the Lionheart, which is marching back to England after the crusades. Accepting a simple duty of honor -- swearing to a dying soldier that he will return a family sword to the man's father -- Robin instead finds himself caught between a clash of kings. Instead of peace, Robin again finds war, but, for the first time, he discovers something worth fighting for.

Movie's Sermon General's Warning:
Robin Hood contains a lot of battlefield violence and some moments of sensuality.

Rating: PG-13      Genre: Action/Adventure

FilmTalk Card - What is your obligation toward the weak and oppressed?

Robin Hood can stimulate discussions about God's preference of obedience over sacrifice, the importance of righteous rulers, and the need to really know truth. Robin Hood can also inspire talk about how people view the Church, and what is our obligation toward those who are weak and oppressed.
