Big Mike is homeless, family-less, discarded by society as just another poor, black kid going nowhere. When he is given a seat at the Wingate Christian School, almost everyone expects him to fail. But no one counted on the Tuohy's. Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy take an interest in Big Mike. A Christian family committed to doing the right thing, they bring Mike into their home, give him a bed, a meal, and a family. The transformation that follows is breathtaking. The Blind Side shows how acts of love change both the giver and the receiver. It is the true story of how Big Mike became Michael Oher -- first round draft pick at left tackle for the Baltimore Ravens.

Scene Setup: On the way home after a game, Sean, Leigh Anne, and SJ Tuohy spy a very large boy walking in the rain in just a t-shirt and shorts. Leigh Anne asks if SJ knows the boy, and he says that his name is Big Mike. Shocked by the sight of this shivering boy, Leigh Anne asks her husband, Sean, to stop the car so that she can find out what is going on.

Scene Setup: Leigh Anne Tuohy drives Michael, a poor young man she has taken into her family, to his last known address, in a crime-ridden neighborhood, to pick up his stuff. Oblivious to the danger she is in, she thinks she will get out and help, but Mike knows that her social standing will count for nothing here.
