Sermon Illustrations - Sermon Illustrations from The Karate Kid (2010) (2010)

Dre and his mother are uprooted from their home in Detroit, and relocated by her car company to China. Dre tries to fit in, but he runs afoul of group of bullies at school. Realizing his need to be able to defend himself, he discovers that his building's maintenance man -- Mr. Han -- is also a kung-fu master. Working together, Mr. Han helps Dre to find his self-confidence in self-control and focus. It all builds up to the eventual tournament -- where Dre must prove himself against his nemesis.
