Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old balloon salesman, has always wanted to take a trip of a lifetime. So he takes off -- literally. By tying thousands of balloons to his house he is carried away; but soon Carl discovers that he is not alone. Stuck out on the rising porch is Russell, an eight-year-old Wilderness Explorer. These unusual accidental companions adventure together, and learn a lot about each other, and about what is most important in life, along the way.
